Miles Davis - Live-Evil (2 CDs)
$24.00
Miles Davis and producer Teo Macero created this masterful concept album, which features both studio and live tracks (from the Cellar Door in Washington, DC in 1970). The music was in constant transition, and Miles Davis wanted the world to hear what he and his musicians were thinking about. This remastered and re-imagined edition contains an essay by Gary Bartz, rare & previously unpublished photos and originial gatefold LP graphics. Digitally remastered using 20-bit technology for stunningly clear sound. The supporting players, as per usual during this period, comprise a virtual who's who of fusion: Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Ron Carter, Dave Holland, Billy Cobham, Jack DeJohnette, Airto Moreira, Steve Grossman, Gary Bartz, and Michael Henderson.
The moods range from the eerie "Little Church" and the chorale-like "Selim" to the furiously churning funk of "What I Say," which is as evil a groove as has ever been hit.
