As RVA was prepping for a Winter Storm, The National was the scene for the real action this weekend. A 2-night run for Umphrey's McGee with The Trongone Band starting things off both nights.
The Trongone Band supporting their first release on Harmonized Records, "Keys to the House" was an eye opener for the fans at The National. There was no time wasted from the time The Trongone Band took stage until theater was pumping with Trongone's hard charging Southern Rock and Soul sound. Brothers Andrew on Guitar and Johnny Trongone on Drums are just part of the power of the band. Chip Hale on Bass and Ben White on Keys round out the energy of the Trongone sound. Andrew Trongone is a powerhouse of energy on stage for Trongone. Deep riffs, power slides, and a lot of hair are being throw around on stage at The National. A sit in from Andy Farag of Umphrey's was a great add for the night. Trongone kept the vibe rolling through their entire set and crowd wanted more as the set closed out.
Trongone Band found a home in Richmond but are slated to make a heavy impact at every show they take stage. Trongone band has a heavy Tour schedule in the Southeast from January 30th to April 6th. Don't miss this one!
